We fight against poverty(*) since 2005.
We are an incubator of renewable energy systems “e-Hubs”, to tackle climate change.
Located in Haut-Uélé Province in the far North-East of the D.R. Congo, the territory of Dungu has approximately 347,480 inhabitants. The Dungu region is a transition zone between the equatorial forest and the wooded and grassy savannah.
It is located at the delta of three large rivers (Kibali, Dungu, and Uélé). Dungu knows the rainy season (March - November) and the dry season (December - March). It has a tropical climate with temperatures of 27°C.
Far from the capital Kinshasa (more than 2000km), Dungu is since Congo’s independence a forgotten poor and under-educated region of the D.R. Congo.
In Dungu there is no clean drinking water nor electricity. The national electricity company SNEL is completely absent. The main sources of energy are wood and charcoal 97%. Building solar & hydro 15kV micro power stations (e-Hubs) in the Dungu-Garamba zone will contribute to solving climate change.
We fight against poverty, the greatest cause of migration(**).
